Snowdog:Snowdog Down the Rabbit Hole

Heather is a teacher by day of all things creative, from traditional printmaking to digital design for computer games. Loving all thing creative from a young age and enjoying the fantasy stories like Alice in Wonderland and The Snowman as a child, this sculpture embodies those two iconic stories.

"The upcoming Snowdog trail is a fantastic opportunity for artists and designers such as myself to get involved with a brilliant creative project, showing off the fantastic range of talented creatives we have in the North East. I am really proud to be a part of a project engaging with the local community to raise money for such a good charitable cause such as St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice. Being of a creative nature with a love of fictional stories of the Snowman, Snowdog and Alice in Wonderland as a child, I am happy that I have been able to combine the stories within the final design and application to the Snowdog. Furthermore, the opportunity to show off some of the links with the great city of Sunderland which may have been the source of inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s stories. I am most looking forward to seeing my Snowdog with my Alice in Wonderland inspired design being on display to the local people of the North East, encouraging people to get out and about to visit the different Snowdogs along the various trail spots and hopefully inspiring future artists to get creative and get involved in local projects".
