The design for our Snowdog was created by taking all of the children’s artworks and then incorporating as many of their elements as possible.

The chosen theme was centred on a celebration of our curriculum and the rich and broad learning that takes place at Lumley Junior School. The children were also keen to have a clear focus on their village and its mining heritage.

As a whole school we heavily value, celebrate and incorporate the arts within our curriculum. With this love of the arts embedded within our school ethos, it was important to us to include and experiment with different art forms when creating our Snowdog.

As we are an extremely inclusive school, it was important that all members of our school were involved with the design. We decided that thumbprints from every member of our school (staff and children) should feature on our finished Snowdog.
